On my journey to being a zero waste sewing studio, On my journey to being a zero waste sewing studio, I’ve been experimenting with stuffing my smaller scraps into a pressing ham. Made with cotton on one side, wool on the other (purchased as part of the @waverleymills remnants crafters pack) and lined with calico. This one is almost finished, once full and stitched closed it makes a handy tool for ironing curved seams and sleeves. One element of that is replacing single use items with products that can be used again, and again. With this in mind I jumped at the chance to work with the @[17841444782332795:@canterbury_toylibrary] (CATL) to make them a range of rainbow and pastel bunting for their party packs. I'm so excited to see how many families have these at their celebrations! They have been made with cotton fabric flags, and poly/cotton bias, and the flags are top stitched to keep their shape after being placed in the wash. If you are after your own set of bunting, DM me to organise a set. Or if you're local to Canterbury, why not join the toy library?

So here's the first event, the first BHRR Community Market in Deepdene coming up next Sunday October 22. You'll find me set up outside, about half way along the path. I will be bringing my range (including lots of smaller items that are not online at www.misscoopermakes.com) and offering them all at great market prices! For all of the other makers out there, I am also bringing along a heap of fabrics from my stash that I will never get around to sewing, with fabric pieces starting from $1. I promised a Book Fairy photo of my finished skirt I promised a Book Fairy photo of my finished skirt and outfit - and a rare photo of me (hi 👋) so here’s a few taken at @bookfestashburton which is an event that I’m so proud to be a part of - giving books another life through a huge 2nd hand book sale of ex-library books and through art and craft activities, supporting our local community centre and local Rotary club - and it’s such a fun day! So here’s a few photos including some of the wing construction pics showing the pocket sewn to the back of my top so no annoying arm straps! Enjoy!! 📚🪄✨
